School holidays 2017 in France

Last week during the school holidays in the Netherlands our family visited us. The age ranged from just 2 to almost 80. It was gorgeous weather, so we did a lot of fun things. The theme of the week was elephant. We have been twice with the little ones to an indoor playground in Challans (20 km). Also a day to Planet Sauvage (30 km); a beautiful and spacious animal park with a.o. elephants. A day to the coast at Noirmoutier island; we enjoyed playing on the beach, we fished and we climbed some rocks. Grandpa Hans wanted to go to Nantes for a day and everyone thought that was a good idea. Of course, we saw the elephant, we sat in the big carousal and visited the castle. Nantes never disappoints for a visit. On Friday we had some excitement  on the Passage du Gois, a car got stuck in the morning. Grand Depart Tour de France 2018 en Vendée

Le circuit du Tour de France 2018 est connu! Le Tour débute sur l’île de Noirmoutier chez nous en Vendée. Malheureusement, le parcours ne passe pas par le Passage du Gois cette année et ne passe donc non plus pas devant notre maison. Le Tour commence une semaine plus tard que d’habitude a cause d’un tournoi de football en Russie (ce que nous néerlandais ne comprenons pas du tout😜), ce qui fait que le Tour de France ne passera plus par le Passage du Gois à cause de la marée. Mais il sera une belle étape le long de notre côté. Aussi les présentations d’équipe et un contre-la-montre par équipes seront très proches de chez nous. Nous avons vraiment hâte d’y être. Et vous?

The start of the Tour de France 2018 in the Vendée

The circuit of the Tour de France 2018 is known! The Tour starts close to us on the island of Noirmoutier in the Vendée. Unfortunately, the course does not go over the Passage du Gois this year and thus does not pas in front of our house. The Tour starts a week later than usual, something to do with a soccer tournament in Russia (which we Dutch do not understand at all😉), which made that the Tour the France will no longer go over the Passage du Gois because of the tide. But it will be a beautiful stage along the coast. Also the team presentations and a team time trial will be held very close to us. We are really looking forward to it. And you?
